A Taste of Creole Heritage
Along the quiet banks of Cane River in Natchitoches, Louisiana, Marti’s story began in the heart of Creole country. She was raised in a place where food meant more than a meal. It meant family, tradition, and love passed from one generation to the next. In her family’s kitchen, she learned early that the sweetest recipes were the ones made with care and shared with others.
Among those traditions was the art of making pralines. Slow-stirred, rich with pecans, and filled with the kind of flavor that carries history in every bite, pralines became a part of who she was.
In the late 1980s, Marti’s family moved to Tennessee. Though she left Louisiana, Louisiana never left her. She carried her Creole roots with her and continued making the recipes that reminded her of home. What began as a way to stay connected to her past quickly grew into something much bigger.
People were drawn to what she made. Not just because it tasted good, but because it felt like something real. Something honest. Something made with heart.
Over time, Marti found her place and built something special. One batch at a time, she created more than pralines. She created moments, memories, and connections with everyone who tasted them.
Today, Marti is lovingly known as the Queen of Pralines.
Her sweets are more than a treat. They are an extension of her spirit, her faith, and her love for people.
Every praline tells a story. Every batch carries her roots.
And every bite is a reminder that the best things in life are meant to be shared.
